Dierks Bentley shares excitement ahead of NFL Draft

NFL Draft

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Dierks Bentley is one of several artists slated to perform for the masses during the NFL Draft weekend.

“This city is on fire and there [are] so many great things happening all the time,” Dierks said.

The NFL Draft is expected to be the largest event held in the state of Tennessee, and Dierks says he is ready to take center stage.

“To have the Draft here and to get a chance to be one of the guys up on stage, you know, leading the party, it’s really exciting for me, Bentley said.

Not to mention, he will have the best view in town.

“It’s the best seat in the house, up on stage looking out at everybody.” Bentley told News 2. “I think country music goes well with a lot of our southern football fans and I think its a great thing for the city and the Titans.”

It’s also great for downtown business owners like Bentley himself. The country music star owns Whiskey Row on Lower Broadway.

“It’s probably pretty good for all the restaurants and bars downtown,” he said smiling.

Dierks says while he is not on stage, he plans on hanging out with the masses at his bar.

“To have a bar down there, to kind of get to show off a little bit, it’s exciting for me, and it’s an honor to have a spot down there,” he said. “I’ll certainly be down there, probably checking some of it out from the second floor.”

It’s no secret that the music during the three-day event will make this NFL Draft one of kind, marking yet another milestone for Music City.

“I feel like every weekend there is a new high in Nashville, a new crazy amount of people coming to town or some event is happening that’s going to blow the previous record on the weekend before,” Bentley said. “It’s just crazy living in this town — and being on the airport authority board, I knew, every month it’s like record numbers of people coming through our airport. It’s just Nashville. The growth is unbelievable, so having the Draft here the same weekend as the marathon, it’s like another all-time high for Nashville.”

More than 20 Nashville-based acts from a wide range of genres will perform during the three days of activities on the NFL raft main stage at Riverfront Park and at the NFL Draft Experience stage further down Broadway.
