DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — Voting tabulation machines were tested Tuesday to be ready for the run-off election on July 14.
The DS-200 machines were introduced to voting areas in 2014.
Officials said they feel safer using paper ballots rather than online voting.
“Sure, we have got an amazing election staff here in Houston County, and they’re very conscientious about making sure that all the machines are tested, certified, locked and sealed for election day,” Probate Judge Patrick Davenport said.
Voting officials stressed absentee ballots are open until July 9 and that every voting station will have materials to combat COVID-19.
