OZARK, Ala. (WDHN) — Mayor Mark Blankenship and several city council candidates were sworn into office.

Many people were there to show support for Blankenship and his new co-workers.

The ceremony included the presentation of the colors and multiple patriotic songs.

“I feel great,” Blankenship said. “I’m so proud we finally made it to this point. (It’s) been a long eight months and a lot of hard work. I’ve got a lot of people to thank, but I’m just excited about the future of Ozark and doing what we can to move this city forward.”

Blankenship said his first project is building new housing for the city.
