DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — On Wednesday, Wiregrass United Way kicked off its 10th annual campaign kick-off bus tour.
The bus made six stops in the Wiregrass recognizing businesses who have already finished their campaign and they saved Dothan for the final stop.
The event was sponsored by Wells Fargo and included cheers by the Dothan Wolves cheerleaders.
Many businesses such as Southeast Health, City of Dothan, and Farley Nuclear Plant to name a few all received awards for the money they raised toward United Way’s desired goal.
“Our goal is the crazy eight, so it’s $2,888,88.88,” CEO Walter Hill said. “As of today, thanks to companies who have already finished, we have raised $1,390,156 which is just over 48% of our goal already raised.”
Hill hopes the organization can reach the big goal by the end of the year, but sometimes it comes in January as long as its before the 31st.
