DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — Former local broadcaster Red Holland died Friday.

According to Holland’s friend, David Sommers, Holland died after contracting COVID-19.

For more than three decades, the Red Holland Morning Show was carried on both WTVY and WJHG.

Holland was a Webb, Alabama, native best known for his fishing show as he traveled the tri-states fishing everywhere from the Apalachicola Bay for red fish to Lake Seminole for large mouth bass.

He was also known for his southern humor and did a number of commercials for different businesses in the Wiregrass.

After broadcasting in Dothan for many years, Red moved his operation to Panama City Beach where he also produced his shows in the 1990’s.
