DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — The Wiregrass Angel of Hope held its fourth annual candlelight vigil at Westgate Park.
The vigil is designed for those who have suffered from the loss of a loved one including the loss of a child during pregnancy. Family members received white carnations in memory of their loved ones to place at the base of the statue.
One parent says it’s beautiful to come together and celebrate.
“Though our stories may be different, the unity is the same. It’s just so beautiful to come out here and see the statue, and place your flower and your candle that represents a name, a life, and to place it there with a memory,” Dustin Rivenbark said.
Close to 100 people gathered around the Angel of Hope statue.
