Wicksburg High to continue heightened security measures after threat

The Houston County Board of Education continues to take precaution after a threat was made against Wicksburg High School Wednesday afternoon.

Although there has not been any information released about the nature of the threat, school officials notified parents through a robocall Wednesday night and employed extra safety measures Thursday.

“In the meantime, we had extra SRO’s on campus, and we had extra staff just to make sure our students felt safe,” Superintendent David Sewell said.

Sewell also said there will probably be extra security at school Friday as well.
