UPDATE: Tree down reported on Coffee C. Road 260

UPDATE: There are power outages in the area and it is expected that there will be more as the storms continue.

(WDHN) — We have received reports that one Alabama resident has been injured due to the severe storm systems that are moving across the state.

According to the national weather service, trees were blown down near Lee road. One of those trees fell through a mobile home injury a resident inside. Currently that is the only report of injuries here in Alabama.

However, six people were killed earlier this afternoon in Mississippi.

We have also received reports of several downed trees in the Wiregrass. Officials have reported trees down in Coffee County around new Brockton as well as near county roads 260, 216, 248, and 239.

Some of those trees have reportedly landed on power lines as well.
