DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) – We’re starting off our Monday with a large rain mass and patchy fog across the area. We haven’t seen severe weather this morning but the risk grows as we head towards the afternoon hours.
Highs will warm into the upper 70s, near 80 degrees causing instability to develop. The Storm Prediction Center has the entire area under a “Marginal” (1 out of 5) risk. The biggest threat will be damaging winds and hail, the possibility of a tornado warning is not zero. We will also have to deal with heavy rain and ponding on the roadways.
Make sure you have multiple ways to receive alerts and stay weather aware this afternoon. We will be watching this system closely.
