WDHN News 18-week fitness challenge gets underway

News

Recently Wake Up Wiregrass cameraman Dustin Gilley dared Wake Up Wiregrass anchor Tonya Pruitt to complete an 18-week long fitness journey with him and for the two of them to track their progress on camera.

Tonya first took to Facebook to see if there were any local gyms who might be willing to take on the responsibility of trying to train them.

Although WDHN News received numerous responses, Orange Theory Fitness in Dothan was the first gym to respond so we decided to partner with them as Dustin and Tonya embark on this fitness journey.

Landon and Keisha Brazzell own Orange Theory and Cross Fit Embrace.

Keisha, who won the title of Miss Alabama 2008, recently met with News 18 to show us around the gym. She will serve as Dustin and Tonya’s personal trainer over the next 18 weeks.

Dustin and Tonya explain why they both wanted to become healthier.

Katie Newton is a former professional bodybuilder and a certified nutritionist at Orange Theory.

She outlined their specific meal plans for the next four and a half months.

She too will also be coaching the duo along the way, so make sure to tune in every week on Wake Up Wiregrass as they embark on this new fitness journey together and in the progress provide viewers with fitness and health related information.
