HOUSTON COUNTY, Ala. (WDHN) — The Storm Prediction Center has issued a Tornado Watch for the eastern and southern portions of the WDHN coverage area until 11pm CT/12am ET.
As the center of Tropical Storm Marco moves well south of the region, plenty of moisture is bringing moderate to heavy rain to portions of the Wiregrass. In addition, small areas of rotation are showing up on WDHN STORM TRACKER radar. The tropical system is creating an environment that could create a few spin-up, brief tornadoes this evening.
The Tornado Watch has been issued for Houston County, Ala., Early County, Ga., Seminole County, Ga, Jackson County, Fla., and Holmes County, Fla. Washington, County, Fla., and Calhoun County, Ga.
A tornado watch means conditions are favorable for tornadoes.
