Woman arrested for robbing Marianna store at gunpoint

Marianna police have arrested a suspect in the armed robbery that took place over the weekend at the Chevron Food Mart.

Police arrested Emerald Meredith Monday night around 6 p.m. after receiving a tip.

Meredith was transported to the Jackson County Correctional Facility where she awaits her first appearance in court.

MARIANNA, Fla. (WDHN) — Marianna police are searching for a suspect in armed robbery at the Chevron Food Mart.

The police department said a woman entered the store on Jefferson Street Saturday armed with a semi-automatic pistol, demanding money from the clerk.

The woman then took the money and ran away but was captured on surveillance video before making her escape.

Police described the suspect as a light-skinned black or biracial woman wearing a camouflage mask, black clothes, and green gloves.
