UPDATE: Florida man wanted for Andrews Bridal robbery, sexual assault arrested

DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — A Florida man wanted for robbing and sexually assaulting a woman at Andrews Bridal Shop earlier this month is now behind bars.

According to Facebook posts from Dothan police and Chipley police, 36-year-old Travis Dickson Wilson is in custody.

Wilson, a Cottondale, Florida resident, was identified as the suspect in the Dothan incident, as well as a kidnapping and rape case in Chipley, Florida, Wednesday afternoon.

According to police, Wilson was arrested in Leesburg, Florida, which is more than four hours away from Chipley and less than an hour from Orlando.

Dothan and Chipley police departments started working together when they realized the two crimes were similar.

The robbery and sexual assault at Andrews Bridal happened on April 1. Wilson allegedly entered the shop, sexually assaulted a female employee and took off with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Two days later, on April 3, an abduction and sexual assault occurred in Chipley.

Wilson faces charges of first-degree robbery, first-degree sodomy and first-degree sexual abuse in the Dothan case. His charges in the Florida case have not been released at this time.
