Auburn Police announced the additional arrests of two men in connection with an ongoing investigation into a rape and kidnapping case from 2017.

Police say they’ve arrested Rodney F. McCurdy, 42, and Courtney D. Thomas, 38, both from Auburn, on felony warrants for first-degree rape.

Authorities say the arrests are the result of an ongoing human trafficking investigation of a 13-year-old female that was reported to police in October 2017.

Police say the victim was picked up in a vehicle with several unknown males shortly after running away from the Lee County Youth Development Center. She was taken to a residence, held against her will and sexually assaulted.

According to a news release from the Auburn Police Department, after continuing investigation into the incident, McCurdy and Thomas were developed as suspects and warrants were obtained for their arrests, charging them each with rape first degree.

They are being held in the Lee County Jail on a $100,000 bond.
