Two men arrested for burglarizing Dothan private school

DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — Two men have been arrested for allegedly burglarizing Northside Methodist Academy and stealing more than $20,000 worth of property last week.

According to a release from the Dothan Police Department, 28-year-olds Andrew Shane Phillips and Tevin Michael Coffman have been charged in the burglary.

Phillips faces two counts of first-degree theft of property and third-degree burglary. He also faces charges of second-degree domestic violence and breaking and entering a motor vehicle in an unrelated 2018 incident.

Coffman was charged with first-degree theft and breaking and entering a motor vehicle.

The burglary occurred on Saturday, April 6 and involved a U-Haul van, which was found two days later.

“On April 8, 2019, the U-Haul van was located in the back yard of a residence located in the 2600 block of Timothy Road along with some of the property taken during the theft,” the release states.

Phillips was then arrested, along with Coffman.

Phillips’ bonds total $95,500, and Coffman’s total $7,500.

It is unclear what the two men are accused of stealing from the school. No other details have been released from Dothan police at this time.
