Troy police charge man with 1st-degree sex abuse

TROY, Ala. (WDHN) — The Troy Police Department arrested a Florida man Tuesday in a sexual assault inverstigation.

A release from Chief Randall Barr states that on Sept. 5, police responded to a sexual assault call from Ann Street around 9:15 p.m.

Upon arrival, officers met with the victim and learned that the suspect in the case was Jonathan Frank Nehrbass of Homestead, who was an acquaintance of the victim.

Detectives eventually met with Jonathan Frank Nehrbass at the Troy Police Department, arresting him on a felony warrant for first-degree sexual abuse.

Nehrbass was taken to the Pike County Jail on a $10,000 bond.

The case is still under investigation.
