TROPICAL STORM CHRIS is continuing to gain strength off the coast of the Carolinas. It has been stationary over the warm water throughout the weekend. This is causing it to become more organized and it will likely strengthen to a hurricane by Tuesday. It’ll continue to meander off the coast before beginning to travel up the east coast. However, it will remain far enough offshore to not have much of an impact to the Northeast.

By the end of the week, it will likely continue to track towards Southeast Canada as a Category 1 hurricane. From there, it will likely encounter colder water and weaken.

BERYL is no longer of major concern. It has nearly completely dissipated. However, this area of low pressure has a slight chance of redeveloping and becoming more organized in the Atlantic, almost taking the place of Chris. However, the chances are low for that right now. And if it were to develop, it would likely remain well offshore.
