ELBA, Ala. (WDHN) — The Elba Police Department made another pair of arrests in the death of an Elba man last week.
Donta Jaqun Rogers, 26, died Jan. 16 after being shot at a house on 617 Putnam Street, his wounds being consistent with shotgun shells found at the scene.
In its investigation, the EPD arrested two of Rogers’ relatives —Yatchauntaneey “Breezy” Henderson and Rogers’ father, Jonathan Corell “Jon Boy” Lawrence — for a robbery that reportedly happened only hours before the man’s death. Both are now charged with first-degree robbery.
Police releases stated that Henderson was a witness in the case before she was arrested the day after the homicide for allegedly tampering with evidence.
Rogers’ funeral is set for Saturday at the Mulberry District Association Building at 11 a.m.
