Both suspects now in custody for Opp murder investigation

The U.S. Marshals Task Force has arrested Anthony Siler in the investigation of Michael Davis’ death.

He was taken into custody at Union Grove Wednesday at 9:49 a.m. and has been charged with murder.


Opp police have announced that Michael Davis was found dead on New Hope Road south of Opp at 6:04 p.m.

They have one suspect in custody.

“Mark Anthony Hines was located in the Brooksville Community and has been arrested and charged with Abuse of a Corpse,” the department said.

Siler is still on the run. Davis’ body has been sent to the Department of Forensic Sciences for an autopsy.

OPP, Ala. (WDHN) — The Opp Police Department is asking for help in finding two persons of interest related to an early morning shooting.

Police got the call about a shooting at the Childree Trailer Park near Barnes Street around 3:10 a.m. Tuesday. When officers arrived, they found evidence of an attack, with the victim being identified as Michael Davis, 44, of Opp.

The department said they also found a Kia Sportage LX behind a home on Mullins Avenue that is believed to be related to the crime.

Investigators are now searching for Opp residents Anthony James Siler, 46, and Mark Anthony Hines, 46, as persons of interest. They are both pictured at the top of this article.

Anyone with information related to the shooting is asked to call the Opp Police Department at 334-493-4511.
