DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — The Dothan Police Department has released the audio of a fake shooting call that led to law enforcement swarming Lighthouse Drive Thursday afternoon.

In the call, a man pretends to be a father who says his nine-year-old son was shot through the head by his other son.

“He…, He’s dead,” he told the 911 dispatcher.

However, none of this was true.

“Upon arriving at the scene, officers determined that no assault had occurred and no threat to the public occurred,” the police department said.

Currently, the Dothan Police Department is asking for help in identifying the caller. If you recognize who this person is, call the police department at 334-615-3000.
