Dothan man found guilty of murdering his girlfriend

DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — A Houston County jury found a Dothan man guilty in his girlfriend’s 2018 murder.

According to Dothan police, Brandy Mancil was found with life-threatening injuries in her home on the 1200 block of Burbank Street on May 25, 2018.

Mancil died after first responders managed to get her to Flowers Hospital.

They soon learned that Mancil was injured after she got into a fight with her boyfriend, Antonio Perez Jackson, 35, of Dothan. Jackson was arrested and charged with murder during the investigation.

During the course of the court proceedings, a mental evaluation was ordered for Jackson.

Following the jury’s verdict, Jackson’s sentencing hearing is scheduled for Nov. 8, 2019.
