Flowers Hospital confirms more COVID-19 cases after death is reported at Southeast Health

UPDATE:

Flowers Hospital confirmed two more cases of COVID-19, per a release from Dothan’s Joint Information Center.

In total, the hospital has tested 70 people. Three of them came back positive while another four are waiting for the results.

This news comes after Southeast Health confirmed its first death Wednesday.

Here are the local figures, according to both hospitals.

Southeast Health:

  • Total Tested: 131
  • Positives: 19
  • Positive Inpatients: 10
  • Positive Discharged: 8
  • Death of Patient with Positive Results: 1
  • Negative Tests: 83
  • Pending Tests: 29
  • Inpatients Awaiting Results: 20

Flowers Hospital:

  • Total Tests: 70
  • Pending Tests: 4
  • Confirmed Positive Cases: 3

The Joint Information Center plans to release testing information every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, but if it is needed, they will increase the frequency.

DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — Southeast Health confirmed its first death from COVID-19 death Wednesday.

In total, the hospital has had 17 cases, with six patients being discharged.

The hospital has tested 127 people, and 76 of those cases came back negative. There are 34 tests still pending, with 26 people waiting at the hospital for their results.
