BREAKING: Bomb found at sheriff’s office connected to Orchid Bolin investigation

UPDATE 3/20/19:

The Dale County Sheriff’s Office has informed us that the bomb found at their headquarters is connected to the Orchid Bolin case.

Bolin was found dead on Sutton Dairy Road near the Dale-Barbour County line on March 6.

Officials told WDHN that they believe the bomb belonged to Mitchell Byron Doster, 41, who was arrested in the investigation. He is currently on hold at the Dale County Jail.

Dothan police have given the all-clear. Things are now back to normal.

Paige Weeks has confirmed that the explosive device is a pipe bomb.

It was among several items taken during a search warrant for a homicide investigation (not related to the Beasley-Hawlett case). They found it in a duffle bag.

ORIGINAL REPORT:

DALE COUNTY, Ala. (WDHN) — Personnel with the Dale County Sheriff’s Office and the Ozark E-911 have evacuated their headquarters after a “hazardous explosive device” was found at the location.

The Sheriff’s Office posted on Facebook, informing citizens that South Merrick Avenue will be closed during this emergency.

All 911 calls will now be sent over to Dothan. Non-emergency calls are to be made to 774-5402.

The Dothan Police Bomb Squad is en route, per the latest developments.
