Bond revoked for man charged with manslaughter in son’s death

DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) —  Robert King, the man charged with manslaughter in his son’s death, is back behind bars.

He was arrested again on August 10. for public intoxication.

“On Aug. 9, officers were called to the intersect of where he’s neighborhood is located and found him in the state where he was a danger to him due to his intoxication,” Major Will Benny said. “He was taken into custody for that and processed.”

On June 28, Dothan police arrived at a home on Lace Drive where they found two-year-old Castiel King unresponsive in the family’s car.

King was rushed to Southeast Health where he was pronounced dead. Police said both of the parents were impaired by drugs when the kid got out of the house.

“On June 29th officers responded to Mr. King was his son had passed away in that vehicle from that interaction they found marijuana in the amounts that constituted a felony,” Benny said.

After losing his bond, King will remain in jail for the rest of the court proceedings, which include a preliminary hearing on Sept. 6.
