A search warrant served at a Jordan Avenue residence in Cowarts yielded thousands of dollars worth of both illegal and prescription narcotics along with numerous guns, landing three teens behind bars for their involvement in a drug ring.
Ethan Roper, 18 of Dothan, Ethan Goolsby, 18 of Dothan, and Jacob Grimes, 19 of Slocomb, each faces six controlled substance charges, five counts of possession of a controlled substance and one count of possession of marijuana first-degree.
A total of 21 guns were taken from the home along with the following drugs: MDMA, Xanax, Hydrocodone, Marijuana, and Meth.
In addition, Houston County sheriff’s investigators found several dozen high-quality guns inside the home.
During a Thursday afternoon news conference, Sheriff Donald Valenza said he believed the narcotics were targeted for drug users in the eastern half of the county.
“Well, we’re still looking into the case, and like I said, the guns haven’t been run yet,” Valenza said. “They will be run through the NCIC, and we’ll see whether or not they may have been reported stolen, and I’m sure we’ll get some calls after the release.”
Grimes and Goolsby have $60,000 bonds, Roper is being held without bond because of a previous charge.
Valenza said the investigation continues, and additional arrests could be forthcoming. He also asks that if you have any information on this case to contact the sheriff’s office at 334-677-4808.
