Suspect wanted in Sunday hit-and-run

JACKSON COUNTY, Fla. (WDHN) — Police are searching for a suspect in a hit-and-run that left a bicyclist severely injured Sunday evening.

The driver of an unknown black vehicle headed west on US 90 at 7:28 p.m. when they failed to see a woman riding her bike in the inside lane.

The woman — Rebecca Lynn Broughton, 36, of Grand Ridge, Florida — was knocked off her bicycle and right into the median, landing face down. She was taken to the Jackson Hospital for her injuries.

The driver continued heading west before law enforcement arrived. As a result of the incident, the car should have damage to its left side and left-side mirror.
