GREENE COUNTY, Ga. (WDHN) — A couple fishing under the I-20 bridge on Lake Oconee managed to hook a bag containing two guns and some very unique gold pins last week.

One of the pins was carved which can be used for tracking purposes. The Green County Georgia Sheriff’s Department tracked down the deceased owner’s son in Alabama where items were stolen in 1993. Also in 1993, a gun was stolen in a burglary in a nearby town.

The pins were fraternity and sorority pins from his parents’ college days in the 1930s. The items were returned back to the family after the items spent 26 years in a lake.
