Retired Dothan firefighter critically injured in motorcycle crash


DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — The Dothan Fire Department is asking for prayers for a former member that was severely hurt in a motorcycle accident.

The accident happened on Thomas Drive in Panama City Beach at around 9:45 p.m. Monday, according to the Florida Highway patrol.

Retired DFD Sgt. Jason Davis, 48, was riding his motorcycle on Thomas Drive when a Nissan Frontier tried to drive the eastbound lanes without yielding, hitting Davis.

Davis’s motorcycle then flipped, eventually landing on its right side. He was then taken to Bay Medical Center for treatment, sustaining severe injuries in the crash.

The fire department wrote that they have been following his situation and that Davis’ family says he is in “a very serious condition.”

“Please lift Jason up in continuous prayer!” the fire department wrote said.. “As we hear more we will let you know and if you hear anything, please share with us as well.”
