One of the men wanted in the Graceville shooting has been arrested by the Houston County Sheriff’s Office.
Trayvon Dorsey, 19, was booked into the Houston County Jail Monday at 12:13 a.m.
The Graceville Police Department put out the following release on the matter:
On Sunday November 22, 2020 Graceville Police Department with the assistance of the State Attorneys office was able to obtain an arrest warrant for the shooting that occurred at Hardee’s on Saturday November 21, 2020.
The arrest warrant was executed by (the HCSO) at approximately 9:30 pm the same day. The suspect Trayvon Dorsey was arrested and has been charged with the Murder (F.S 782.04) of Shannon LaTrent Weatherington. Dorsey will be extradited back to Jackson County where he will await trail.Jason Barley, Chief of Police
Dorsey is also a suspect in a shooting on South Appletree Street in Dothan. He faces an attempted murder charge in that case.
UPDATE 8:25 p.m. Saturday:
GRACEVILLE, Fla. (WDHN and WMBB) – Jackson County authorities confirm that one man died Saturday evening as a result of a gun shot wound in Graceville. Officials with the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office told WMBB the man died in a shooting that took place in the parking lot of the Hardee’s in Graceville.
Authorities said the deceased person is an Black man who sustained a single gunshot wound to the chest.
No arrests have been made. Sheriff’s Office officials are looking for two Black, male suspects in connection to this shooting. The two men could possibly be traveling in a white SUV.
The investigation continues. WDHN and WMBB will continue to update the information as it becomes available from authorities.
GRACEVILLE, Fla. (WDHN) – Jackson County authorities are investigating a fatal shooting in the parking lot of a fast-food restaurant Saturday evening.
Reports indicate a man died as a result of a gunshot wound. It happened near the drive-thru at the Hardee’s restaurant at the intersection of Cotton Street and White Avenue in Graceville.
Graceville Police, Jackson County Sheriff’s Department, Jackson County Fire and Rescue, and other law enforcement responded to the scene. Graceville Police have not released any details, and WDHN News has received no information that an arrest has been made.
