ENTERPRISE, Ala. (WDHN) — Enterprise’s city clerk and treasurer effectively resigned Monday, following the city council’s unanimous decision to accept his letter of resignation.
Robert J. Dean will formally leave his position on Oct. 31, and until then, he will be put on paid leave to attend to family matters. He will be given six weeks’ salary as part of an agreement between the city and himself, which was approved by all councilors except for Councilman Wallace Miller, District 4.
This follows another resignation from the City of Enterprise following the departure of Stephanie Crowe, the former finance director. In Crowe’s letter, she blamed Dean for allegedly causing a hostile work environment that caused her to leave.
In his place, Beverly Sweeney has been chosen to serve as the acting city treasurer until a replacement for the city clerk/treasurer is found. This resolution passed with a three to two vote, with councilors Perry Vickers, District 3, and Eugene Goolsby, District 2, opposing the motion.
