Police identify man who crashed vehicle in Malvern cemetery, damaging several grave sites

MALVERN, Ala. (WDHN) — Police have identified the man who crashed his vehicle in a Malvern cemetery, damaging numerous headstones and grave sites.

According to Geneva County Sheriff Tony Helms, Johnny Artis of Dothan was arrested by State Troopers on a DUI charge.

Artis was taken into custody by Highway Patrol Officers and transported to the Geneva County Jail.

Currently, it is unclear whether additional charges will be filed; the case remains under investigation.
