Police: Assault reported at Dothan’s Carver School for Math, Science, and Technology

Dothan Police vehicles seen at Dothan’s Carver School for Math, Science, and Technology Friday morning.

UPDATE: 1:28pm Friday (WDHN) — Dothan Police confirm to WDHN News that a student at Carver School for Math, Science, and Technology threw a water bottle, striking a teacher.

Police were called the scene just before 11 a.m. Friday morning.

No charges will be filed, according to police. Dothan City Schools will now handle any student disciplinary action relating to the incident.

DCS spokesperson Meagan Dorsey released this statement:

“On September 18, Carver School was notified of an individual with a medical incident that required the attention of medical personnel. The individual is now under medical care.”

“No students or staff were in danger at any time.”

DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN)  —  Dothan Police were called to Dothan’s Carver School for Math, Science, and Technology late Friday morning.

Dothan Police tell WDHN News an assault occurred at the school but have not provided any more information.

Meagan Dorsey, Public Information Officer with Dothan City Schools, confirmed to WDHN News that an ambulance was at the school around 11:10 am.  She would not provide any other details about the situation at the school.

At this time, it is unclear if the incident involved students or adults.

A WDHN News crew across the street from the school witnessed Dothan Police vehicles at the school. Those police vehicles left the scene just before noon.
