More shelters opening ahead of Saturday’s severe weather

List of shelters:

  • Daleville Cultural and Convention Center, 750 S Daleville Ave. Contact 334-598-4422 if you have any questions
  • Ozark Civic Center, 320 E College St, Ozark. Open for citizens living in mobile homes. Bring any items you need.
  • Salvation Army Community Room, 1001 S Bell St, Dothan. Bring any items needed you may need like “chairs, linen, food, entertainment, etc.” This building is not FEMA 361 approved.
  • Dothan First Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 147 Picard St, Dothan. This building will not be open once the storm is already here. Bring items you may need. This building is not FEMA 361 approved.

OZARK, Ala. (WDHN — Ozark Mayor Bob Bunting has opened the Ozark Civic Center for residents seeking shelter during Saturday’s strong storms.

According to Dale County Emergency Management Agency Director Kurt McDaniel’s latest Facebook post, the center will open at two p.m.

Residents who live in mobile homes are encouraged to stay at the shelter and are asked to bring items they might need during the storm.
