Man charged with murder in Dothan

UPDATE 2/13/2020:

Dothan police arrested a suspect early Thursday morning for the murder of an 18-year-old man.

Upon responding to a call on the 800 block of Williams Avenue, officers found Terrance Ransom dead from multiple gunshots. His body was left in a yard.

Through leads given by the public and evidence from the scene, investigators tracked their suspect to the Fairfield Inn, which the site of a shooting last May.

Suspect Brandon Fluellen, 26, holed himself up in the hotel until negotiators managed to get Fluellen without any problems.

He now faces a murder charge for the crime, although other arrests may follow as more suspects are found. Fluellen is still in custody without a bond.

DOTHAN, Ala (WDHN) — The Dothan Police Department responded to a shooting call on the 800 block of Williams Avenue early Wednesday evening.

When we arrived on the scene, law enforcement and concerned residents flooded the street. According to Lt. Doug Magill, the victim in the shooting case is dead.

DPD and investigators are on the scene working diligently to determine what led to the man’s death.

“Right now, it’s still early so I can’t give you any information on the suspects or vehicles right now…I have no idea.” Lt. Magill said.

The investigation is still early, so there are no suspects in the case. Witnesses believe the suspect fled the scene.
