DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — A new bus schedule will be in place for next school year for Dothan City Schools.
The new staggered bus schedule was approved at Monday’s school board meeting and the advantages are in favor of the students. The new schedule will decrease the wait time for the bus and allow them to ride with their peers.
“Elementary with elementary kids, middle with middle, or junior high with junior high. Today, sometimes you have kids riding the same school bus kindergarten through 12th grade which sometimes can lead into some situations, so its definitely an advantage there.” Jay Bruner, DCS Director of Transportation, said.
For elementary, the schedule will be 7:40 a.m. till 2:10 p.m., High School 8:10 a.m. till 3:10 p.m. and Junior High 8:30 a.m. till 3:50 p.m.
