DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — National Peanut Festival volunteers were celebrated for their work to make this year’s festival possible.

18 divisions and around 400 volunteers have spent the past year planning and preparing for this year’s festival.

Monday night volunteers were treated to a dinner as a token of appreciation for their hard work.

“We want them to enjoy,” said National Peanut Festival President Beverly Lampkin. “They spend a lot of time out here during the festival and this is just a small way that we give back.”

This year’s festival is being called the “Ultimate Roadside Attraction.”

The festival will begin on November 1.
