ST. CLAIR COUNTY, Ala. (WIAT) — Thursday, the Alabama Department of Health reported a measles case in St. Clair County.
CBS 42 spoke with the mother of the infant who contracted the measles virus.

Since the news broke, Pell City daycares and parents said they are going to be extra precautious on keeping their children safe and healthy.
At Pell City Child Development Center, the owner said they check their children’s blue slips weekly, but when the news broke out, they went through all the paperwork again.
“I thought oh my goodness we need to brace for this. This may be terrible but my staff is trained so they know what to look for and try to keep everybody away from measles,” said Doris Harrell, owner of Pell City Child Development Center.
