ENTERPRISE, Ala. (WDHN) — Enterprise Mayor William Cooper put out a heat warning to city employees working outside.
Drink plenty of non-caffeinated liquid and try to avoid the sun as much as possible. For public works employees replacing a sewer manhole off the westside of the Boll Weevil Circle, they pitched a tent to work underneath.
“And our mayor emphasized again that our guys are hydrated and that they don’t get too hot,” said Shannon Roberts, with Enterprise Public Works.
Besides water, Roberts said the city is supplying sports drinks to outdoor workers during the heatwave to replenish electrolytes lost due to sweating.
