MARIANNA, Fla. (WDHN) — The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man Thursday after an investigation of a welfare check turned into a struggle against deputies.
Deputies arrived at the Super 8 Motel located at Highway 71 and learned that a man named Christopher Williams, 33, was inside of one of the rooms.
Williams had an active warrant for child support, and when they found him, a deputy sheriff tried to bring him in. However, Williams resisted and fled on foot into the woods near the motel.
He was later caught without any problems and now faces charges for battery on a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest with violence.
