Man dies after crashing with Freightliner trailer in Troy

TROY, Ala. (WDHN) — A two-vehicle crash in Troy took the life of a Montgomery man Sunday.

According to witnesses, a 2003 Honda Accord was traveling south on U.S 231 when it hit the median and struck a trailer attached to a Freightliner truck.

James E. Brasher III of Montgomery, 63, died at the scene while the driver of the Freightliner was not injured.

According to posts on social media, Brasher was known at Troy University for being a close associate of Phi Mu Alpha, a music fraternity on campus.
