DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — Maintenance work will begin on the Westgate running and biking trails Wednesday and it will take place for a while.
Most of the construction impact will be the trails from the Westgate softball complex to the soccer complex, so it will be closed off from 7 a.m.-noon.
Also, the walking trail portion that runs between the tennis center and Deerpath Road will be diverted to biking traffic for the next couple of weeks.
Roy Kitts wants to warn those who exercise at the park to be careful through these changes.
“The biggest problem we have, there will be bikers and runners on the trail,” Kitt said. “The biking trail is strictly for bikers, but the pedestrians will have to watch out for the bikers when they are not used to that as much.”
There will be people posted at the end of the trails along with signs to direct you for safety reasons.
