DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — In just a couple of months, Landmark Park will become a hotspot for hosting weddings and the most attractive spot in the park will probably be this barn that was recently renovated.
“The barn has been here 20 years, we just expanded it to include a bridal changing suite and some outdoor seating and so yes weddings are very popular,” Executive Director Laura Stakelum said.
The park normally sees a good bit of weddings during the summer months but as of late spring months have taken over due to the nice weather it brings. Other than the barn, weddings are held at outside facilities such as a gazebo or in the church. With covid-19 in effect and it’s still surging, the special day will be entitled to some changes.
“The good thing about Landmark park is so much of our facilities are outdoors so that opens up many opportunities to have your special day here and still be able to be outside and spread out and then the barn here is 8000 square feet so even if you had tables at half capacity, you can seat 200 people in here,” Stakelum said.
Stakelum says they are making sure to follow precautions such as thoroughly cleaning venues and participants must wear masks inside and outside if in close proximity. Although there are changes to adjust to, she says the weddings haven’t lost any creativity.
“We’ve had weddings here where bride and grooms had fancy masks that said Mr and Mrs so they kinda had fun and made it their own so that’s been neat to see people have hand-sanitizing stations many people have done pre-packaged and individually wrapped food,” She said.
Miss Stakelum says if you are planning to book an event at Landmark Park you need to do so because the 2021 calendar is already filling up fast
If you have to cancel an event, the park has a cancellation policy and they will work with you on refunding your money or rescheduling the event.
