DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) – Cold air is expected to move into the area, bringing the first sub-freezing temperatures of the season as we head into December.

With temperatures falling into the upper 20s Tuesday night, First Baptist Church Dothan will open a warming station for the homeless and those who need a warm place to stay for the night.

The warming station will be set up in the Family Life Center directly behind the church. The church is located at 300 West Main Street in Dothan.

According to a post by Wiregrass 2-1-1, sign-in will begin at 7pm Tuesday evening and will end at 9pm.

“Once signed in, if you leave, you cannot be re-admitted. Dinner and snacks provided and a warm place to stay for the night.”

The shelter will close at 10am Wednesday morning.

Volunteers are needed for two shifts. Anyone interested in being a volunteer at the shelter is asked to contact the Harbor at 334-790-4031, email info@theharbordothan.com, or send the Harbor a message on Facebook.
