DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — A woman is now facing a second-degree assault charge after violently resisting arrest, according to Dothan police.
Lieutenant Scott Owens said officers responded to a disturbance call on State Avenue Sunday. Upon arriving, they found Pamela Faye Reynolds, 50, in an apparent state of intoxication.
Owens said the officers, after finding probable cause, tried to arrest Reynolds, but she resisted, biting an officer in the process. She ended up piercing the officer’s skin, leaving a laceration on his hand.
Reynolds was released from the Houston County Jail on a $15,000 bond Monday morning. Owens said the department now has to check to make sure she did not pass on any communicable diseases to the officer she bit.
