ANDALUSIA, Ala. (WDHN) — A mixup ended up getting a suspected burglar arrested after she was caught sleeping in the home she broke into, according to Andalusia police.

Around 11:45 a.m. Sunday, officers went to South Cotton Street after getting a call about a burglary.

According to the police department, Rachel E. Frank, 33, of Andalusia allegedly broke into a home in the area Saturday night.

After making it inside, she reportedly ate food from the home and packed up clothes, shoes and other items — taking more than $500’s worth of materials from the residence.

She then fell asleep in the home, only to be found by the owner the next morning. After getting caught, Frank said she didn’t mean to break into that particular home.

“Frank told investigators she thought she was breaking into her father’s home, which she stated she has done several times in the past,” the Andalusia Police Department’s Facebook page states.

Police charged Frank with third-degree burglary and third-degree theft of property. She was booked into the Covington County Jail under a $13,000 bond.
