Local News

DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) —The Wiregrass Public Safety Center will be holding a rape aggression defense class for women and girls ages 12 and up.

The class specializes in different defensive responses depending on the situation.

This weekend’s class is already full, as many people are extremely excited to learn and get involved.

“One, to be aware of your surroundings, but two, god forbid if you’re ever in a situation to put these techniques into practice, you know what to do,” said Jason Wright, director of the Wiregrass Public Safety Center. “We’re teaching you to be prepared in the event that it happens.”

The class will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on both days with a one-hour lunch.
