DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — The Wiregrass Children’s Home has set up Christmas trees in the Wiregrass Commons Mall for auction.

The event is called the Festival of Trees, and this will be its 21st year.

Bidding for the trees starts at $500. People can bid on them until 9 p.m. Thursday.

“People have been able to go and look at each tree and each item, each auction item that we have, and in the comment section, have been having the opportunity to bid on Facebook, and we’ve had several people take advantage of that,” said Vicki Meade, board chair of Wiregrass Children’s Home. Our actual live Facebook will be (Thursday) night. We’ll begin tomorrow night Thursday the 19th at 7 p.m.”

If you want to help the children’s home, but can’t participate in the Festival of Trees, visit the Wiregrass Children’s Home website. There, you’ll find a list of needed items.
