Walton County sheriff answers questions surrounding deputy-involved shooting

BRUCE, Fla. (WDHN) — Walton County Sheriff  Michael Adkinson spoke about a deputy-involved shooting that happened Wednesday, which you can see above.

The shooting happened off of Highway 20 in Bruce the sheriff’s office was called in to handle a physical disturbance. The situation then ended up with a deputy shooting the suspect, who reportedly threatened the investigators with a knife.

The suspect died afterward.

“Sheriff Michael Adkinson has requested Florida Department of Law Enforcement respond and assist in the investigation,” a release from the sheriff’s office said. “The State Attorney’s Office from the First Judicial Circuit is also on scene.”
