United Way to begin bus tour across Wiregrass

DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — The Wiregrass United Way will have its 11th annual campaign kickoff bus tour Wednesday.

They will be stopping in the six counties they serve, starting in Geneva County at 8:30 a.m. and ending in Houston Vounty at 2:30 p.m.

This marks the second half of this year’s campaign.

“Funds that we raise are going to go to our 39 partner agencies who do all sorts of things,” “We have agencies that work with youth. We have agencies that work with special needs, help meet basic needs, and really just strengthen families. The money that people donate is gonna help us reach our goal is gonna help make a big impact in a lot of people’s lives all across the Wiregrass.”

The goal is to reach is $2.9 million for the year. If reached, the Wiregrass Foundation will add an additional $400,000.
