DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — Two people are being treated after stabbing each other in a fight at a home on East Savannah Street late Monday night, according to Dothan police.
An officer was called to the scene just before midnight, where they found the two victims each suffering from multiple stab wounds. One subject was found a block away while the other was found still inside the home.
According to Investigator Scott Spivey, both victims were heavily drunk so getting the details from interviewing them was difficult.
“What we know at this point is that there was an argument between the two subjects,” Spivey said. “Obviously, at this point, there’s conflicting stories as two what happened first, but one of them stabbed the other one with a sharp object, possibly either scissors or knife, and the other one grabbed another possible sharp object, scissors or knife, and stabbed the other person.”
One person suffered from two stab wounds, one to the side and another to the back. The other person was stabbed four times: once in the neck, twice in the chest, and once in a leg.
The two combatants are said to not be friends, having probably met that night. It is not yet known who the aggressor was at this moment.
Currently, no charges have been filed, and the individuals will remain unidentified for the time being as the investigation continues. Both are being treated at Southeast Health.
